Rock Material Statue Lightwave 3D, Photoshop September 2006
A rock material test done with Lightwsve 8.5, it's part of an animation. I used base material then i added the fractures and microfractures with 2 image maps very large edited in photoshop. For the colour inside the fractures i used a ramp on the colour relative to the bump. This trick let us see a little more dark green inside the fractures and makes the render more realistic. The bump image map that gave me more problems was the one for the very little "holes" all over the model that had to simulate the erosion of the time. It was a problem because of the color ramp and because of the size so i created an additional image map for the color to make those little holes more color-realistic. I link other samples below:
